Police have detained a BNP leader for allegedly superimposing Prime Minister's images on obscene pictures and preserved those on mobile phone.
The detainee is Akhter Hossain, 45, a ward-level BNP leader of Singra upazila in the district.

Nasir Uddin Mondol, Singra police station OC, said: “Akhter stored some doctored photographs of the PM on his mobile phone and shared those with other people at different times.
“Being informed, the police picked him up on Thursday afternoon and a case will be filed against him after proper investigation.”

When contacted, the upazila unit BNP Joint Secretary Dauder Mahmud said: “Local Awami League members lodged the complaint against Akhter following previous enmity.”
However, the BNP leader did not say whether Akhter stored any doctored photograph of the PM on his mobile phone.
