The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) has extended the bail given to BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir for six weeks.
A four-member Appellate Division panel headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha passed the order on Monday, accepting a plea from the BNP leader, reports BSS.
The court also asked Fakhrul to surrender before the lower court after expiry of his bail period.
Fakhrul, who is right now in the US for treatment, submitted a plea in this regard on August 23 through his counsel.
Earlier on July 13, the Appellate Division granted the BNP leader six-week bail in three cases.
