The Supreme Court yesterday scrapped a High Court order that had quashed the trial proceedings of a graft case against BNP leader Mosaddek Ali Falu.
Now there is no legal bar for the lower court to resume the trial proceedings of the case, said ACC lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan.
The order by a four-member bench of Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha came after the hearing of an appeal filed by the ACC challenging the High Court verdict in January 2012 following a petition filed by Falu. The ACC filed the case against Falu on July 8, 2007 with Motijheel police station on charge of concealing information about his property worth Tk4.57 crore.
