BNP asks Inu to clear position over Bangabandhu killing

The BNP yesterday asked Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu to make his position clear about Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman when Bangabandhu was killed in 1975.

“Sheikh Hasina has appointed [in her cabinet] such people who were against her father. Inu and his people waged armed movement to oust Sheikh Mujib’s government,” Asaduzzaman Ripon, acting spokesperson of the party, told journalists at a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan headquarters.

“They [Inu and his party] introduced politics of criminal activities in the country. They are now talking about democracy – what a farce!”

Referring to Awami League leader Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim’s statement that Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal had plotted Bangabandhu’s killing, the BNP leader said: “Hasanul Huq Inu has to make his position clear, otherwise he should resign from the ministry.”

Ripon said: “Inu and other ministers like him are talking against Khaleda Zia for their publicity and to draw attention of the prime minister.”
