The Jamaat-e-Islami, in a statement, has condemned the brutal murder of blogger 'Niloy Hossain’.
The condemnation was made in a statement issued immediate after the killing incident of Niladri Chatterjee Niloy on Friday.
The statement, signed by Jamaat’s Central Executive Committee member Hamidur Rahman Azad, reads: “Jamaat condemns and protests the murder of a blogger ‘Niloy Hossain alias Neel’ at his Goran residence in the capital city of Dhaka.”

“This incident proves that the government has totally failed to provide security for its citizens and their properties.”
Such kind of killing is being taken place one after another but the government has become failure to bring the culprits under trial, it adds.
“We urge the government to identify the miscreants involved in the heinous killing incident and put them exemplary punishment.”

Known as Niloy Neel on blogging platforms and Facebook, Niladri Chatterjee was killed with machetes by four unidentified assailants.
A group named Ansar Al Islam, believed to be banned militant group Ansarullah Bangla Team, has claimed responsibility for the murder. In an email sent to the media in the afternoon, they said that Niloy had been killed for his blasphemous activities, and warned others of similar consequences for demeaning the Almighty and the Prophet.
