'Terrorists irrespective of party affiliation won't be spared'

The present government would never spare terrorists irrespective of their party affiliation, State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki has said

Chumki said this after visiting Nazma Begum at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Tuesday morning, reports BSS.

"Terrorists would not be spared irrespective of their party affiliation and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed all concerned to show zero tolerance against terrorism,” said the state minister.

Nazma Begum and her unborn daughter were injured when she was shot at the abdomen during a clash between two Jubo League factions in Magura on July 23 that left one killed and another injured.

So far six have been arrested in connection with bullet injury of a newborn in the womb while police is out to arrest more in this connection, she said.

The state minister handed over a cheque worth of Tk50,000 to Nazma Begum on behalf of the government and inquired about the health condition of bullet injured Nazma Begum and her newborn baby who survived the bullet injury.

Later the minister visited three children who were raped at Uttara, Pirerbagh in Mirpur and Hajaribagh, undergoing treatment at one stop crisis centre at the DMCH.
