AL chalks out 40-day programme to observe Bangabandhu’s death anniversary

The Awami League has chalked out a 40-day programme to observe the 40th death anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day on August 15.

The programmes include bringing out a torch procession towards Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi Road 32 in the city at one minute past zero hour today, the first day of August.

In addition, a blood donation programme and discussion has been arranged by Krishak League at Bangabandhu Bhaban. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also president of the Awami League, is expected to inaugurate the programme.  Besides, leaders of the ruling party and its associate bodies will place wreaths at Bangabandhu’s grave at Tungipara in Gopalganj on the day.
