Now produce Ilias Ali too, Menon tells BNP

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon has asked BNP to bring it's missing leader Ilias Ali before the people just like another leader Salahuddin Ahmed.

The minister made the remarks while addressing a programme at the 11th convention of National Workers' Federation Bangladesh in Gazipur on Friday afternoon.

"You [BNP] produced Salahuddin. Now bring Ilias Ali too. Otherwise, Ilias Ali will also become a victim of their conspiracy," Menon said.

Quoting media reports, he said: "BNP said it will not give any reaction about Salahuddin before knowing completely about the matter. Basically they do not have anything to comment on this."

According to Meghalaya police sources, Joint Secretary General of Bangladesh Nationalist Party Salauddin Ahmed, who went missing from March 10 this year, had been arrested on Monday and admitted to the Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience where he was undergoing treatment.

On March 10, Salahuddin Ahmed was allegedly picked up by law enforcement officials from his relative’s Uttara residence, his family claimed.

On the other hand, BNP's organising secretary and former MP Ilias Ali went missing along with his driver in the capital on April 17 midnight in 2012.
