Detective Branch (DB) of Police has submitted a charge-sheet against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and 38 others in the case of a petrol bomb attack on a passenger bus in the capital’s Jatrabari area.
Investigation Officer (IO) of the case and also DB Sub-Inspector Rashid Ahmed submitted two charge sheets to Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court on Wednesday afternoon, CMM court general recording officer SI Uzir Ali told the Dhaka Tribune.
Khaleda Zia was named as the mastermind in both the charge sheets, he said.
On January 23, a group of miscreants hurled petrol bombs on a passenger bus of Glory Paribahan on Demra Road in Katherpool area during the nationwide blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance. At least 15 people received burns in the incident.
On February 1, a victim, Nur Alam, succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Sub-Inspector KM Nuruzzaman of Jatrabari police filed a case where Khaleda was named as the mastermind.
