Tributes pour in for Imtiaz Bulbul

People from different walks of life have paid tribute to Ekushey Padak-winning lyricist, composer, and music director Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul, at Central Shaheed Minar.

Bulbul's body was taken to the Shaheed Minar, in Dhaka, around 11am on Wednesday.

Hundreds of people paid their respects to the freedom fighter. 

Among others: former cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor; state minister for cultural affairs KM Khalid Babu; eminent singers Sabina Yasmin and Fahmida Nabi; were present at the Shaheed Minar.

Members of different social and cultural platforms also paid their last tributes to Imtiaz Bulbul.

The 63-year-old singer suffered a cardiac arrest at his house at Aftabnagar, Dhaka, around 4am on Tuesday.

Later, he was taken to Mohakhali's Ayesha Memorial Hospital in Mohakhali where the emergency room doctors declared him dead.

He had been suffering from heart disease for a long time.
