Death anniversary of journalist Anwarul Islam Bobby today

He was involved with a lot of newspapers throughout his professional career. Starting his journalism career with the Pakistan Observer, he was the youngest secretary-general at the time of All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS). After Bangladesh’s independence, he helped late Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni found the Bangladesh Times and Weekly Cinema. He also ran Banglar Bani for a brief period. He later founded the Pulse, a medical weekly, and The Daily Life from Chittagong, the first regional English language daily. In Dhaka he also founded the now defunct Morning Sun. All his family, friends and well-wishers are requested to pray for his departed soul.
