How a beauty pageant made Bangladesh proud

Nibedita Saha Badhon is a charming and beautiful woman from Bangladesh who lives in Toronto, Canada.
Badhon was selected as second runner up at the Mrs South Asia Canada 2017 beauty pageant held on August 5.
She also won the title of Mrs Style Icon at a pageant organised by Raaga Models.
Badhon left Bangladesh for Canada with her parents in 2000 at the young age of 12. She grew up in an idyllic and balanced environment of both Bangladeshi and Canadian cultures.
The dedicated fan of Rabindranath Tagore songs can wear a sari with her eyes closed.
She said her parents inspired her to participate in many cultural activities, resulting in her performing in many community programmes at Toronto.
As an undergraduate, she studied Biochemistry at the University of Toronto.
In an interview given to CBN24, Badhon said: “I learned a lot about myself while studying at the university. I found out that my appearance was eye catching. I am a people person as well and can easily win the hearts of people.”
Badhon impressed the judges of the Mrs South Asia Canada 2017 pageant by revealing her talents in diverse areas, including costume, fashion sense, culture and catwalk. She sang a song, acing the talent round.
She also shined in the Bollywood Diva round, where contestants dress like actresses.
Expression was a key factor in the pageant, she added.
Badhon is married to an Indian national. Her husband is her greatest inspiration, she further said, and both Bangladeshi and Indian cultures have influenced her greatly.
She believes the Bangladeshi community in Canada has many talented people, and urges everyone to nurture their talents and artistic expression and make Bangladesh proud internationally.
