President Mohammed Shahabuddin on Monday appointed Md Nurul Islam, member of parliament from Barguna-2, as chief whip.
Six other MPs have been appointed as whips.
The appointments were made through separate gazette notifications issued on Monday by the Human Resources Wing of the Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat, by order of the president.
The notifications, signed by Parliament Secretariat Secretary Kaniz Moula, said the appointments will take effect immediately.
The MPs appointed as Whips are: Md GK Gaus (Habiganj-3), Rakibul Islam (Khulna-3), Mia Nuruddin Ahmed Apu (Shariatpur-3), Ruhul Quddus Talukdar Dulu (Natore-2), Md Akhtaruzzaman Mia (Dinajpur-4), ABM Ashraf Uddin (Lakshmipur-4).
