The newly elected member of parliament from Dhaka-10, Dhallywood actor Ferdous Ahmed, has said he wants to repay the trust shown to him by his constituents and his party, the Awami League.
He was speaking to journalists at parliament around 11:30am on Wednesday.
Ferdous said: “I want to repay the faith and trust the party and voters have placed in me. I will try to do it without interrupting any work. I want to fulfil my responsibilities towards the country, to the people and especially to the honourable citizens of the Dhaka-10 constituency.”
“I will try to develop Dhaka-10 to the fullest,” he added.
He expressed his gratitude towards leaders and activists of the Awami League, especially Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, the mayor of the Dhaka South City Corporation.
