Mozammel wants truth commission to find Bangabandhu’s real killers

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque has called for the formation of a “truth commission” to find out the real perpetrators behind the killing of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

He made the demand while taking part in the discussion over the resolution brought in the parliament on Tuesday to pay tribute to Bangabandhu on the occasion of Mujib Borsho, marking the birth centenary of Bangabandhu.

Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, Awami League MPs Tofail Ahmed, Abul Kalam Azad, Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, Nurul Islam Nahid, Shajahan Khan, Md Atiur Rahman Atik, Md Shamsul Haque Tuku and Tahzeeb Alam Siddique, and Jatiya Party MP Fakhrul Imam, among others, participated in the discussion, adds UNB.

Both treasury and opposition bench MPs lauded Bangabandhu for his extraordinary political life, able leadership and utmost sacrifice for making Bangladesh an independent country in the world.

On Monday, Prime Minister and Leader of the House Sheikh Hasina placed the resolution under rule 147 of the Rules of Procedure to pay solemn tribute to the Father of the Nation through a special discussion on his colourful political and work life and his philosophy in the House during the special session summoned on occasion of Mujib Borsho.
