BCIC College students vandalise stalker’s shop

Shah Ali police station OC Anwar Hossain said the students formed a human chain on Thursday in protest of Wednesday’s incident. “Later, some of the agitating students vandalised Jibon Karim's shop near the college,” the OC also said. The OC continued that police managed to arrest Babu and trying to arrest Jibon. Earlier in the day, BCIC College students formed a human chain in front of the institution demanding the punishment for those who harassed two female students. The college's teacher Mir Mohammad Masuduzzaman confirmed it to the Dhaka tribune, saying the programme lasted for two hours starting from 11am. “Their demands are running eviction drive on the shops in the college area and arresting the main accused,” he added. On Wednesday, several stalkers beat up two female college students with a bamboo stick near Dhaka Zoo for protesting harassment. Masuduzzaman said: “Some local youths, who were hanging out in a shop on the pavement in front of the college, called them 'farm chickens', while the two were returning home from the college around 11am. When the girls protested, two youths named Babu and Jibon beat up them with a bamboo stick and left the spot.”
