Woman gives birth to conjoined twins

According to local sources, Sheema Khatun, wife of Mukul Mian of Medinipur village was admitted to Adarsha Clinic and Nursing Home in the town yesterday after signs of labour pain. Here the conjoined twins were detected after ultra sonogram. Later, the mother was referred to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital. But the husband of Sheema admitted her to Zibannagar Upazila Health Complex as he had no ability to take her to Dhaka. Later,  Sheema gave birth to the twins after completing surgery by doctor Mahmud Bin  Hedayet at the health complex. The doctor said the twins were well but they should be separated soon. He advised the family members of Sheema to take her to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) immediately. Badol Mian, father of Sheema told the Dhaka Tribune that their financial condition was so poor that they could not take her to the BSMMU. He wanted government help in this connection.
