Three journalists were assaulted while carrying out their professional duties at Padmar Mor in Hemayetpur, Savar, Dhaka, on Wednesday morning.
The attack took place at around 9:30am while they were covering an ongoing workers' protest.
The injured journalists were Ahmad Sohan Siraji, Star News district correspondent; Rayan Bin Amin, Ekattor TV correspondent; and Md Uzzwal Hossain, Ekattor TV camera operator.
The journalists said they went to Padmar Mor in Hemayetpur after receiving reports of clashes between police and workers in the morning.
After interviewing several agitated workers, they moved a short distance away to record footage of the scene. At that point, a group of masked individuals among the protesters, upon learning that they were journalists, attacked them with sticks and other blunt objects.
The attackers also beat the three media workers with bricks, leaving them injured.
At one point, several people nearby intervened and persuaded the attackers to let the journalists leave. Despite their injuries, the three managed to leave the scene.
