A 35-year-old man was stabbed to death by some miscreants at Shahidnagar in Lalbagh area of the capital on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Biplab alias Farma Biplab, a staff of a fish shop and son of Nazrul Islam of the area.
Three people appeared around 2pm near Baitul Fala Jam-e-Mosque in Shahidnagar area and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot, said Abdus Selim Mia, sub-inspector of Lalbagh Police Station.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital morgue around 4:15pm.
Police said Biplab died due to excessive bleeding.
However, police are investigating the motive behind the killing and trying to arrest those involved in the killing, said SI Selim.
