State Minister for Public Administration Abdul Bari has urged government officials to maintain professionalism in their duties and keep their political preferences separate from public service.
Speaking at a meeting on law and order and development in Bogra, he said officials may have personal political choices but remain accountable to the people for delivering services and implementing development programmes.
Bari said government postings and promotions are being made on the basis of transparency, honesty and competence. He also outlined plans to develop Bogura as an economic hub through an airport, agro-based industries, an international-standard university and increased investment in small and medium enterprises.
He highlighted new social safety programmes, including family, farmer and health cards, as well as initiatives on education, nutrition, environmental protection and safe drinking water.
The minister also expressed confidence that the country’s economy and law and order would improve under the leadership of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.
