State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit on Wednesday said all political parties must exercise patience and tolerance to realise the aspirations of the July movement, stressing that democratic values should be reflected in both words and actions.
Speaking to reporters after a rally and wreath-laying ceremony marking July Mass Uprising Day in Jessore, Amit said the government remains committed to safeguarding human rights, ensuring good governance and protecting freedom of expression.
"To fulfil the aspirations of July, every political party must act with patience and tolerance," he said. "If we use the same rhetoric that the fascists once used, it would show that we have not truly embraced democracy. Political ideologies may differ, but at the end of the day, our shared goal is to build a modern, self-reliant Bangladesh."
Earlier, a colorful procession began at 10:30 am from the premises of the Deputy Commissioner's Office and marched through the town's main roads before concluding at the Martyrs’ Memorial at Bakultala.
