Under the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign on June 28, a total of 66,395 children, including 9,113 children aged 6-11 months and 57,282 children aged 12-59 months in Rajshahi city will be fed Vitamin A capsules.
The information was shared on Tuesday at an orientation and planning meeting organized by Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) at its Nagar Bhaban’s conference Hall.
Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, Administrator of RCC, was present as the chief guest. The National Vitamin A Plus Campaign will be held across the country on June 28.
The meeting discussed and devised ways and means on how to ensure the smooth and successful implementation of the National Campaign in Rajshahi City.
In his speech as chief guest, the RCC Administrator said initiatives have been taken to successfully implement the government program of administering Vitamin A to reduce the risk of child mortality.
He urged everyone to perform their duties sincerely for the smooth completion of the Vitamin A Plus Campaign.
At the orientation meeting, Dr. FAM Anjuman Ara Begum, Chief Health Officer of RCC, presented the overall information on the National Vitamin A Campaign.
