A workshop under the SMART sub-project was held in Naogaon on Monday morning, focusing on ensuring trade licenses for fish farmers as well as licenses for hatchery and feed mill owners. The event took place at the head office of the local development organization Mousumi.
District Fisheries Officer Md Ferdous Ali attended the program as chief guest. The sub-project is being implemented by Mousumi in Naogaon with financial support from the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and the World Bank.
Special guests included Assistant Director of the Department of Environment Md Nazmul Haque, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer of Mahadebpur Shilpi Roy, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer of Raninagar Palash Chandra Debnath, and Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer of Atrai Md Maksudur Rahman.
Officials of Mousumi and the SMART sub-project were also present.
Speakers said the SMART project is timely and necessary for improving governance and sustainable development in the fisheries sector, and they expressed hope for continued cooperation in its effective implementation.
