Healthcare services at Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) have been significantly disrupted as an indefinite strike by intern doctors entered its second day on Monday, leaving hundreds of patients struggling to receive medical attention.
The strike, organized by the Rangpur Intern Doctors' Association, was being observed in support of a six-point demand.
Intern doctors on Monday staged a protest rally in front of the hospital after bringing out a procession from Rangpur Medical College. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Miraj, President of the Rangpur Intern Doctors' Association, announced that the strike would continue until their demands were met.
The ongoing work stoppage has severely affected healthcare at the hospital. Although hospital authorities say emergency measures are in place to manage the situation, patients and their family members report facing significant difficulties in getting treatment.
