Bogra Children Hospital to launch specialized services on June 18

Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Children Hospital in Bogra will formally launch medical services for mothers and children, along with specialized treatment for asthma and heart disease patients, on June 18.

On the day, two separate wards for mothers and children will be inaugurated. Hospital authorities said that services such as an operation theatre, intensive care unit (ICU), and diagnostic facilities will be introduced in phases. The hospital is expected to be developed into a full-fledged children hospital within the next year.

The announcement was made by State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, MP, after the first meeting of the newly formed hospital management committee held at the hospital conference room in the Dattabari area of Bogra city yesterday afternoon.

He said full-scale operation of the hospital would improve healthcare services for people of Bogra and the northern region. He also said that mother and child healthcare services, along with treatment for asthma and heart disease patients, would begin on June 18, marking the birthday of Dr Zobaida Rahman. All preparations in this regard have been completed.

The meeting was chaired by Mir Shahe Alam, president of the hospital management committee, and moderated by Hospital Director Aminul Haque Dewan Sajal. It was addressed, among others, by management committee adviser and Bogra District BNP President Rezaul Karim Badsha, MP, Professor Dr. Moudud Hossain Alamgir Pavel, committee member Mosharraf Hossain, MP, Bogra City Corporation Administrator MR Islam Swadhin, Maftun Ahmed Khan Rubel, Bogra Chamber of Commerce and Industry representative Atiqur Rahman Badal, Dr. Shah Md.
