Abu Saleh Md Ashraful Alam has officially taken charge as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) of Satkhira district, succeeding outgoing SP Md Arefin Jewel on May 7. He formally assumed responsibility at the Satkhira Circuit House amid a cordial handover ceremony attended by senior police officials and members of the district police administration.
Hailing from Bogra district, Abu Saleh Md Ashraful Alam completed his Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Dhaka and later joined the Bangladesh Police as a 28th BCS cadre officer. Over the course of his career, he has served in several important units of the police force, including the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Dhaka, Chittagong Metropolitan Police, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, and the Superintendent of Police office in Naogaon.
Before his current posting, he was serving at the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah, Rajshahi. Upon assuming his new role, he expressed commitment to strengthening law and order in Satkhira and ensuring citizen-friendly policing services. He also called for cooperation from all stakeholders to enhance public safety and maintain peace in the district.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers including additional superintendents of police from various units, who welcomed him with floral greetings and expressed hope for effective leadership in the district’s policing activities.
