Fisherman’s body recovered from Arial Khan River

Police recovered the floating body of a fisherman, identified as Nirmal Malo (60), from the Arial Khan River in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur three days after he went missing.

The body was found on Friday afternoon in the Darga Bazar area under Nasirabad Union, after local residents spotted it floating in the river and informed authorities.

Nirmal Malo, a resident of Gharua village, had gone missing three days earlier while fishing. His wife, Rina Malo, filed a general diary with Bhanga Police Station regarding his disappearance.

According to Rina Malo, her husband left home on the morning of April 29 with fishing nets but did not return by evening. Despite extensive searching, the family could not locate him. “I demand exemplary punishment for those responsible for killing him,” she said.

Sub-Inspector Mashiyur Rahman of Bhanga Police Station stated that police recovered the body after being alerted by locals. He added that the body was sent to the morgue of Faridpur Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
