Accused in schoolboy murder case arrested in Jamalpur

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-12) have arrested an accused in a murder case filed in connection with the killing of a schoolboy in Nandigram of Bogra.

The arrested, Md Bulbul, 40, was arrested on Thursday night from the Aramnagar area of Sarishabari upazila in Jamalpur. He was later handed over to Nandigram Police Station on Friday.

RAB-12 Bogra Company Commander Squadron Leader Firoz Ahmed confirmed the matter in a press release issued on Friday morning.

According to RAB sources, the incident took place around 11:00pm on February 19 at Burail Bazar in Nandigram. Milon Hossain, 17, a 10th-grade student and son of Dilbar Hossain from Dakshinpara, was stabbed to death following a dispute over a football game.

On February 21, the victim’s father filed a murder case with Nandigram Police Station.

Acting on a tip-off, RAB members learned that Bulbul—listed as the sixth fugitive accused in the case—was hiding in Sarishabari to evade arrest. A drive was conducted around 9:30pm on Thursday, leading to his arrest.

Bulbul is the son of Azizul from Birpoli Uttarpara in Nandigram.

Officer-in-Charge of Nandigram Police Station, Mizanur Rahman, said the accused has been sent to Bogra jail through a court order.
