Schoolboy stabbed to death in Bogra

A schoolboy was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants while he was returning home after offering Taraweeh prayers in Nandigram upazila of Bogra on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Milon Hossain, 17, a Class 10 student of Burail High School and son of Dilbar Hossain of Burail village under Burail union.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman of Nandigram Police Station said that the motive behind the killing could not be immediately determined.

Police and local residents said that Milon had gone out to offer Taraweeh prayers at a local mosque. After the prayers, he came under attack on his way home by a gang of assailants who stabbed him multiple times with sharp weapons before fleeing the scene.

Locals rescued him around 11:15 pm and rushed him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

According to local residents, an altercation reportedly took place earlier involving Milon’s neighbour and a youth. A group of people who were involved with the incident stabbed Milon to death, they added.
