900 Yaba tablets recovered from drug trader’s stomach in Jessore

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) recovered 900 Yaba tablets from the stomach of an alleged drug dealer during an operation in Jessore. The tablets were concealed in 13 small packets inside his stomach.

Acting on a tip-off, a special team conducted a raid around 5:10 am on February 18 in the Hamidpur Bazar area under Kotwali Model Police Station in Jessore district, according to a press release issued by RAB-6 Media Cell.

During the operation, Md Masud Rana (19), son of Md Hossain Ali from Gorpara Colony under Sharsha Police Station, was detained. During preliminary interrogation, he reportedly admitted that he had concealed Yaba tablets inside his stomach using a special method.

Later, he was taken to Jessore Sadar Pangu Hospital where an X-ray confirmed the presence of foreign bodies inside his abdomen. He was later admitted to the surgery department of Jessore Sadar Hospital. Through medical procedures, 13 packets containing a total of 900 Yaba tablets were recovered from his stomach.

A case has been filed against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act with Kotwali Model Police Station in Jessore. The recovered drugs and the accused have been handed over to the police station for further legal proceedings.
