Police recovered the body of an unidentified man from beside the Dhaka–Aricha highway in Savar on Monday afternoon.
The body was found lying on the road near the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC).
Witnesses said that they spotted the man lying on the roadside with injury marks on different parts of his body. Sensing something suspicious, locals informed Savar Model Police of the incident.
Police recovered the body, which was later sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue in Dhaka for an autopsy.
Police collected evidence from the scene and are investigating whether the death resulted from a planned murder, a road accident, or other causes. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being reviewed as part of the probe.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Savar Model Police Station Arman Ali said efforts are underway to ascertain the cause of death and identify the victim. Further details will be available after the autopsy report is received, he added.
