Youth killed for protesting sister's harassment

A 19-year-old welding worker, Fahim Hossain, was stabbed to death on Saturday morning in Bogra after allegedly protesting the harassment of his elder sister.

The attack occurred around 9am near Matidali Biman Mor, in front of the Sadar Upazila Parishad.

Fahim was the son of Abdur Rashid from South Nawdapara village in Bogra Sadar and worked at a local welding workshop. According to police and local residents, his sister had been harassed for a long time by Tanoy (19), son of Abdul Hannan from the Matidali Bazar area. Although she was married about six months ago, the alleged harassment continued, leading to disputes between the two families.

Family members said Fahim had protested the matter, which reportedly angered Tanoy. The accused had previously been arrested in a related case but was recently released on bail.

Tanoy and his accomplices allegedly attacked Fahim on Saturday while he was on his way to work. Later, he was taken to hospital, where he died during treatment

Inspector (Investigation) Mahfuz Alam of Bogra Sadar police station said the body of welding worker Fahim Hossain has been recovered and sent to the morgue of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
