A Pakistani national, Rais Khan, has been released from Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur. He walked out of Kashimpur Central Jail Part-2 at around 12:30pm on Thursday.
Senior Jail Superintendent Md Al Mamun confirmed the release.
Rais Khan, son of Din Mohammad of Gulzar Hijri Police Station in Karachi, had been imprisoned under the Narcotics Control Act in a case filed at Ramna Police Station. He had been in custody since 29 September 1999 and completed his sentence on 24 September this year. He was handed over to embassy officials in the presence of Special Branch representatives.
