BSF pushes 30 people thru Meherpur border

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) pushed 30 Bangladeshis, including 16 men, 10 women and 4 children, through the Meherpur border on Tuesday night.

The push-in took place through the Tentulbaria border. These 30 people had illegally gone to India at different times in search of work and were detained by the police. The Indian court sentenced them to different terms of imprisonment. After the end of the sentence, the BSF opened the border gate and pushed them into Bangladesh.

According to a press release, the BSF pushed 30 Bangladeshis within 100 yards of the 140/6 S pillar of the Tentulbaria BOP's area. It is known that these people entered India through various borders through brokers. Later, they were arrested by the Indian police and were in Kolkata jail. After serving their jail term, the BSF returned them to the Bangladesh border.

Gangni Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Boni Israel said that the BGB has handed over the push-in people to the police station. They will be handed over to their families after completing the legal process.

The BGB said that the push-in people are residents of different districts of the country.
