Dhaka and other parts of Bangladesh were shaken by a 5.7-magnitude earthquake on Friday morning, injuring over 100 in Narsingdi.
Most of the injured sustained injuries while rushing out of their homes, said witnesses.
According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the earthquake measured 5.7 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter in Madhabdi, Narsingdi. The tremor lasted for several seconds.
The injured are receiving treatment at Narsingdi Sadar Hospital, said Farida Parvin, resident medical officer of the hospital. Two of the patients have been referred to Dhaka for advanced treatment, she added.
Meanwhile, land cracks were reported inside Ghorashal Dairy Farm and Shibpur Baroi Algi area.
