Ten people, including eight army personnel, were injured when a truck rear-ended a military patrol pickup in the Model Town area of Mohanpur upazila, Rajshahi. The other two injured were the truck driver and his assistant.
One of the injured was later transferred to Dhaka’s Combined Military Hospital (CMH), while the others received primary treatment. The accident occurred around 5:30am on Tuesday.
Mohanpur police station Officer-in-Charge Ataur Rahman said the truck lost control and hit the army vehicle from behind on the Rajshahi–Naogaon highway near Model Town.
Both vehicles veered off into a roadside ditch.
Fire service personnel rescued the injured and sent them to hospital.
Rajshahi Medical College Hospital spokesperson Shankar K Biswas confirmed that one injured army member was taken to CMH Dhaka at 10:30am upon request
