Law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation into a fire that broke out at the house of artist Manabendra Ghosh in the Garpara Bazar area of Manikganj Sadar upazila.
Superintendent of Police Yasmin Khatun confirmed that officers have already inspected the site, the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The investigation is underway. If evidence points to anyone’s involvement, action will be taken promptly,” said Yasmin Khatun.
Deputy Commissioner Monower Hossain Molla said the cause of the blaze would be determined through the ongoing probe.
He added that the district administration would rebuild the damaged house.
According to family members, one room of Ghosh’s house was completely gutted in the fire, which broke out late on Tuesday night.
