Sultan Mohammad Akib, 25, a trainee doctor who had been in a coma for two years after a road accident in Chittagong, has passed away.
He died on Tuesday at around 8pm while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Chittagong city.
Akib was a resident of the Goajorpara area in Ward 9 of Satkania Municipality, Chittagong.
It is reported that Akib graduated with an MBBS from Chittagong International Medical College in 2023.
On the afternoon of March 7 of that year, he was heading to an Iftar gathering in Patenga with friends by auto-rickshaw.
When they reached the Saltgola Crossing area, a covered van collided with their rickshaw.
Following the accident, Akib fell into a coma. He was treated in various private hospitals in Dhaka and Chittagong. After two years, he passed away.
His funeral prayers were held at 11am on Wednesday, and he was buried at the local cemetery.
