3 killed in truck-ambulance collision in Rajshahi

Three people lost their lives in a tragic collision between a truck and an ambulance in Godagari Upazila of Rajshahi early Monday morning.

The accident occurred around 5:3am in the Rajabari Checkpost area. The deceased have been identified as Jafar Haque, 45,  from Hosniganj in Rajshahi city, and Sundari, 60, and Adori, 35, both from Thakurjoubon village in Godagari Upazila. Their bodies have been transported to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RAMEC) for further procedures.

Confirming the incident, Godagari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ruhul Amin said that the ambulance was transporting a patient from Godagari Upazila Health Complex to RAMEC Hospital when it collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction in the Rajabari area. The impact killed three individuals on the spot.

Emergency responders rushed the injured and deceased to RAMEC Hospital. Meanwhile, the truck driver fled the scene immediately after the accident. Law enforcement authorities are working to identify the vehicle, and a case will be filed regarding the incident.
