Bangladesh Railway refunds advance tickets amid service suspension

Bangladesh Railway has started refunding advance ticket prices to passengers as train services remain suspended across the country since midnight on Tuesday.

The disruption is a result of ongoing protests by the running staff of Bangladesh Railways, leaving thousands of travelers stranded and causing widespread inconvenience.

To minimize the impact, BRTC buses have been introduced on important routes as an alternative to trains. Passengers holding train tickets can use them to travel to their destinations on these buses.

In an urgent announcement on Tuesday, Rezaul Karim Siddiqui, public relations officer of the Ministry of Railways, said that despite accepting the majority of the running staff's demands, they have not called off their protest program. Consequently, train services may continue to face disruptions.

Passengers with canceled train journeys can claim refunds for their advance tickets from Bangladesh Railway.
