The temperature in Tetulia, Panchagarh, was recorded at 10.5°C at 9am on Monday, with a humidity level of 99% and wind speeds ranging from 10 to 12 kilometers per hour.
On Sunday, the temperature in the district had dropped to as low as 7°C.
The region has been enveloped in thick fog since early morning, accompanied by light winds. Despite a slight rise in temperature compared to Sunday, the dense fog and chilly winds have made the cold feel more severe. The sun has not been visible so far, contributing to the biting cold.
Roads, markets, and public spaces remain unusually quiet as people avoid venturing outside unless absolutely necessary. Poor and homeless individuals are bearing the brunt of the weather, struggling without adequate warm clothing.
Mohammad Rokonnuzzaman, an observer at the Tetulia Weather Observation Centre, reported that the temperature was 11°C at 6am and dropped to 10.5°C by 9am.
Local residents continue to face difficulties, with many calling for increased distribution of warm clothes to help those most affected.
