Ferry service resumes after 2.5hr on Daulatdia-Paturia route

Ferry services on the Daulatdia-Paturia route resumed after a 2-hour and 40-minute suspension due to dense fog.

The services resumed at 10:10am on Saturday, after the fog density decreased.

Earlier, from early Saturday morning, the rising fog density prompted authorities to suspend ferry operations from 7:30am to prevent accidents.

This caused significant suffering for passengers and vehicle drivers due to the severe cold weather.

Mohammad Salahuddin, Assistant General Manager of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), Daulatdia terminal branch, said: "Ferry operations resumed at 10:10am on Saturday as the fog density subsided. To avoid accidents, ferry services were suspended from 7:30am on Saturday morning. Currently, 15 small and large ferries are operating on this route."
