Ferry services on the Daulatdia-Paturia river route resumed on Tuesday morning after being suspended for three hours due to dense fog.
Ferry operations were halted at 6:15am as visibility on the river sharply declined, causing significant inconvenience to passengers, including ferry and vehicle drivers.
Md Salahuddin, manager (Commerce) of BIWTC's Daulatdia terminal, said: "Fog began forming on the route early in the morning, disrupting ferry movement. By dawn, the fog became so dense that neither the marking points nor the beacon lights were visible. To prevent accidents, ferry operations were completely suspended at 6:15am. Operations resumed at 9:15am, as the fog dissipated."
Currently, 12 ferries of various sizes are operating to facilitate vehicle crossings on this route.
