Students of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement organized a protest rally in Rangpur, demanding the banning of the Awami League's politics and justice for the July massacre.
The rally began at 4:30pm on Sunday from the Lalbagh intersection in Rangpur city.
The march passed through KDC and Khamar intersection, eventually returning to Lalbagh intersection, where a gathering took place. Leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement spoke at the gathering.
They said that regardless of any conspiracies orchestrated by the Awami League from abroad, it would be futile. The students and the public will confront all such conspiracies with firm resolve.
They further highlighted that the fact that those involved in the killings during the mass uprising are still not brought under the law proves they are under the shelter of the administration. They demanded that the accomplices of authoritarianism hiding within the administration be identified and brought under the law. The leaders warned of a larger movement if their demands are not met.
The leaders also said that due to terrorist activities, the politics of the Chhatra League has been banned. The Awami League remains as the leaders of the party despite fleeing the country during the mass uprising have not ceased their anti-state conspiracies. The students and the public of Bengal remain vigilant and will continue to stand against any conspiracy until the dreams of Abu Sayed-Mugdho are fulfilled.
