Gopalganj bikers encouraged to use helmet for safety

With the slogan “Wear a Helmet; Keep Yourself and Your Family Safe,” members of the Gopalganj Yamaha Bikers Club organized a day-long awareness campaign to promote helmet use.

The initiative was launched at 10am on Saturday at Launch Ghat, the heart of Gopalganj town, where club members wearing helmets were welcomed with flowers.

The campaign was conducted with support from the local traffic police, and club members expressed their gratitude by presenting floral greetings to traffic officers, hoping their collaboration would further strengthen the initiative.

Following the launch, the campaign continued throughout the day on busy roads across Gopalganj Sadar Upazila, Kashiani, and Muksudpur Upazila, encouraging bikers to wear helmets as a safety measure.

“We ride for personal reasons and satisfaction, but we don’t want our riding to become a risk to our families,” said KM Roni, admin of the Gopalganj Yamaha Riders Club.

“We are committed to riding with helmets and safety gear to make biking safer and more enjoyable for us and our families. Through this campaign, we aim to raise awareness so that bikers can protect themselves and their loved ones,” he said.

Sakib Hossain Hridoy, another club member, emphasized the campaign's purpose: “Our primary goal is to encourage bikers toward safer road practices. Often, riders wear helmets only to avoid fines, overlooking their own safety. If bikers start wearing helmets for their own and their family’s well-being, our campaign will have achieved its purpose, leading to a safer environment for bikers.”
