Another man, who was injured following the explosion at a filling station in Rahmatpur Bypass, Mymensingh, died while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in the capital.
The deceased was identified as Tofazzal Hossain.
Tofazzal died at 10:10am on Wednesday while undergoing treatment. With the latest development, the death toll rises to four in the incident.
Currently, three other people are still under treatment at the hospital, and their condition is reported to be critical by the attending doctors.
Shaon Bin Rahman, a residential doctor at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, confirmed the information.
He mentioned that 98% of Tofazzal's body was burned.
Tofazzal Hossain, son of Abdus Salam from Nijkalpa village in Rahmatpur, Mymensingh Sadar, worked as an electrician at Azhar Filling Station in Rahmatpur Bypass.
On Monday, around 2:45pm, an explosion at the Azhar Filling Station on Mymensingh-Tangail Road caused a fire.
Seven vehicles were destroyed in the blaze.
The fire was brought under control by seven Fire Service units after two hours of efforts.
During this time, Himel Ahmed, 32, died at the scene, and Abdul Kuddus, 85, and Abul Hossain, 45, died while receiving treatment in the hospital.
Additionally, three people with serious injuries are being treated in Dhaka, and two others are being treated at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
