The general secretary of the Patuakhali unit of Jubo Dal, the youth wing of the BNP, on Sunday announced that special benefits will be given to children born during the day at Patuakhali Sadar Hospital and clinics if they are named after BNP acting chairperson Tarique Rahman.
Shiplu Khan made the announcement on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of Jubo Dal, when over 500 underprivileged individuals received medical services in Patuakhali under the directive of Tarique.
A free medical camp was organized at the BNP party office on Banani Mor in the city.
The chief guest was Abdus Rashid Chunnu Mia, the district BNP convener, and the special guest was Member Secretary Snehangshu Sarkar Kutti.
Under the direction of General Secretary Shiplu Khan and the presidency of District Jubo Dal President Monirul Islam Liton, medical services were provided to over 500 men and women at the camp.
In the meeting, Shiplu said: "If any parents name their child born today Tarique Rahman, the district Jubo Dal will take full responsibility to brighten that child's future."
"If any child is named Tarique Rahman, special opportunities and benefits will be provided by the district Jubo Dal," he added.
