Two workers died while working in an under-construction septic tank in Savar upazila of Dhaka on Friday.
The deceased were Anisul, 36, from Rangpur, and Saiful, 43, from Bhola.
They had been working as construction workers and living in a rented house in Vakurta union.
According to witnesses, Anisul entered the septic tank to work in the morning.
When he did not respond despite being called repeatedly, Saiful went inside to check on him. Soon there were no responses from him either.
Locals subsequently informed the Fire Service.
Fire Service personnel rushed to the scene and rescued both individuals in an unconscious state, taking them to Savar Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared them dead, said firefighter Liton.
