Ex-Jubo League leader arrested in Bandarban for attack on students

Former Jubo League leader Abu Tayeb has been arrested in a case filed over an attack on a program of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Bandarban.

The arrest was made during a raid by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Tuesday night. 

Abu Tayeb, a resident of the Bus Stand area of the city, faces four cases.

Police said there are allegations of attack, issuing threats, sabotage and cocktail blasts against the arrestee. One Habib Al Mahmud filed the case. 

Abdul Jalil, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, said four cases were filed against the arrestee. However, he has been shown arrested in one case. 

According to sources, five cases were filed over attacks on rallies and processions of students during the movement in Bandarban. 

Meanwhile, the law enforcers conducted another raid to arrest Swechasebak League leader Abdul Rashid the same day. However, he could not be detained.
