Advocate Muazzem Hossain Helal, Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has said that Jamaat is the most persecuted and oppressed political party in Bangladesh.
He emphasized that everyone must remain vigilant to prevent the resurgence of fascism. Therefore, all should cooperate with the interim government in the upcoming reform efforts.
Jamaat-e-Islami is continuously working towards establishing a welfare state for people of all religions, Helal added.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at an exchange of views meeting with journalists, held on Tuesday at 12 noon at the Kirtankhola Auditorium in Barisal city.
The event was presided over by Jamaat Barisal Metropolitan Ameer Principal Zahir Uddin Muhammad Babar, while Principal Aminul Islam Khosru, head of the media wing for Barisal city Jamaat, conducted the program.
The meeting was addressed by several individuals, including Professor Abdul Jabbar, Maulana Habibur Rahman, Mizanur Rahman, Anwar Hossain, and Shamim Kabir from Jamaat. SM Zakir Hossain, Secretary of Barisal Press Club, also spoke. Additionally, Nazrul Biswas, Khalid Saifullah, Pulak Chatterjee, Shaheen Hasan, and other journalists from various print and electronic media actively participated in the event.
